What We Do
The Springfield Boys & Girls Club is a full-time, year round youth agency
with a special emphasis on serving boys & girls, ages 6 – 18 years of age
from the inner city of Springfield. A large percentage of youth served at
the Club live below moderate or poverty family income levels. 45% of youth
are Hispanic, 40% African American, and 15% Caucasian. Between both the
Carew Street and Indian Orchard site, 2,800 inner city youth are served on
annual basis. Membership fees are affordable and the site is accessible.
No youth is ever turned away from the Club, regardless if they can pay or
not. For many of our youth, the Club is their home away from home and for
many others, their only alternative from the streets.
Our Programs
The Springfield Boys & Girls Club owns and operates the Club facility
located at 481 Carew Street in Springfield, MA. The Club operates a
satellite site located on the grounds of Indian Orchard Elementary during
the academic school year and summer. Both sites operate year round. The
Springfield Boys & Girls Club has a number of successful programs that

Our Strengths &
Challenges
Over the history of the organization, our greatest strength has been to
meet our challenge to serve our city’s most deserving youth in an
accessible, affordable and safe environment. We continue to meet this
charge each year by reaching out to our community donors including both
individuals and businesses, operating successful fundraisers like the
Annual Festival of Trees as well as developing positive and supportive
relationships with foundations assisting us financially through grant
donations.
